The International Journal of Body, Mind and Culture (IJBMC) is an international, peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to psychology and closely related interdisciplinary fields. The journal particularly focuses on psychosomatic medicine, psychotherapy, transpersonal and cultural psychology, mind-body studies, behavioral health, and health humanities.
IJBMC publishes original and archival scholarly contributions, including empirical studies, qualitative research, theoretical papers, review articles, and interdisciplinary work that demonstrates clear relevance to psychological science and related biobehavioral and sociocultural disciplines. The journal aims to advance scholarship on the relationships among body, mind, culture, and health by providing a platform for rigorous academic dialogue across psychology and its neighboring fields.
The idea for establishing IJBMC emerged in 2014 during a session held within the framework of the DAAD project “Globalization and Mental Health.” This initiative led to the formation of an international editorial board and the publication of the first issue of the journal in 2014. IJBMC is published online in English and is committed to double-anonymized peer review, editorial transparency, open access dissemination, and internationally recognized standards of publication ethics.
